Detailed Villa Information
Maid Service
We firmly believe that one of the main reasons for choosing a villa holiday is privacy The maid will therefore visit the villa usually once per week. There is no service at the weekends and on National Holidays. The cleaner will normally arrive in the morning and if possible you should allow her access immediately as she may have other villas to clean and cannot return later in the day.
Her principal duties are...
To clean and tidy the living areas, clean the bathroom(s) clean the kitchen, empty the waste bins, tidy the bedrooms and change the beds.
It is not the maid's responsibility to wash up mountains of dirty dishes in the kitchen. Your co-operation is appreciated.
Please do not think that it is necessary to leave your bed if you want to "lie in". The maid will simply be unable to clean your room.
If you require the maid to provide other services such as laundry of personal clothing and ironing, don’t hesitate to ask If she is able to help she will advise you of any additional cost before she does any work to avoid any misunderstandings. If your personal items require a special wash cycle/temperature or perhaps a mild detergent etc. please advise the maid accordingly. The local agent or the villa owner cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to your personal washing etc.
Electricity
The supply of electricity is the same voltage as the UK. Sockets are the usual three square prongs. Ask your representative for advice if you are unsure.
As electricity is expensive in Cyprus, we would appreciate you following these pointers to minimize wastage.
If you have underwater pool lights or outdoor lighting around the villa please ensure that they are switched off at night before you retire. In addition to eating up electricity they will attract unwelcome insects and mosquitoes.
Check in the morning to make sure that outdoor lights have not been left: on, not always easy to see in the bright sunshine
Please also be economical with the washing machine don't run them unnecessarily or half- empty as water here is very precious.
In the event of a power failure In all the villas there is a safety electrical breaker switch which can be tripped out by a number of events ego if too many appliances are switched on at the same time, a faulty appliance or by an electrical storm with thunder and lightening. In some cases during a bad storm the power may be turned-off at the local power station. If this is the case please be patient, the power will be restored as soon as possible. If the power loss is due to a problem within your villa first locate the breaker box, normally located just inside the front door. All switches should be in the up position.
Operate the lever or switch as indicated and power supply should return, if not then contact your representative.
Household Appliances
Linen and Washing Machines
All linen is provided and changed weekly by the maid Hand and bath towels are also supplied please do not use these at the poolside or at the beach.
Fridge
Please be careful not to overload the fridge which could prevent it from operating effectively. It could result in food not being stored at the correct temperature and possibly spoiling.
Cooker Hob, Oven
All cooking appliances on our villas operate with electricity, so there is no need to worry about gas supply. If you have any problem to use these appliances, do not hesitate to contact your representantive.
Air Conditioning
All villas have fully-airconditioned bedrooms at an extra charge, based on a per-unit, per-day basis. Upon your arrival to the villa, you will be provided with the remote controls and you will explained on how to operate it.
Television
Television is provided on every villa. You can watch at about 6-7 local channels. If you require satelite reception please contact us to have something arranged for you.
CD Player
Some of our villas are equipped with CD Players. Please do not take the CD player to the beach or away the villa. If your villa does not have any CD Player and you would like to have one, please contact us to provide you with one.
VCR / DVD Players
These can be provided at an additional fee, based on a per-day basis.
