Security
The same need for security applies abroad as at home. However Cyprus is still a relatively theft free country. By taking the following simple common sense precautions we can try and keep it that way and you will minimize the chances of theft affecting your holiday.
Secure all doors windows and shutters when you leave the villa, even if it is just for a short time. If there is a gate to the property make sure that it is closed and secured. When you are absent from the villa never leave personal items such as radio / cassette players, personal stereos or video cameras around the pool
If you feel that you are unable make the property secure, please advise your representative.
When you are sitting by the pool ensure that you lock doors and windows that cannot clearly be seen from where you are sitting.
Keep your car locked and if you must leave things in the vehicle, make sure that they are secured out of sight in the boot.
Valuables, cash, traveler cheques, airline tickets and passports should be kept safe many people find that money belts are the best way to keep small valuables safe.
Keep a separate record of your passport number, traveller cheque numbers with the date and place of issue and details of your credit card.
Lost or stolen items must be reported to the Police as soon as possible and certainly within 24 hours of discovery. A report must be obtained if you intend to make an insurance claim on your return to the U.K. In the event that you should need to report a theft or loss, contact your representative if you should need assistance.
When reporting a theft at the Police Station you will need to show your passport .Ask the Police to issue you with a stamped report stating the time and place of the incident. This report acts as a receipt for the theft and the insurance company will require this form before considering your claim. There may be a small charge for this report.
